Puukontekijä J. Lassila


I’m Jouko from Helsinki and I’ve forged knives in a small workshop in Vantaa for a few decades.
As the materials I use the best steel-grades and when forged by hand they turn into unique art pieces.
The knife sheaths I sow and pattern by hand from strong tanned leather to fit the knives perfectly.
As a material for the knife handles I use different kinds of woods or metals like bronze and silver. As the
most unusual material I use moose horn and bones.
Even though my knives are beautiful, they’re made for everyday use.
When they’re handled with care they can last from father to son.
