Product description
The jewelry of the Birds series has been completed with a necklace series, in which the same birds that appear in Finland are flying as in the earrings of the series. The bird pattern is domestic laser-cut plywood. The pattern on the surface is printed with odorless and ecological printing ink and finally protected with a special coating. The surface is extremely resistant to mechanical abrasion, moisture and UV rays. Please remember that the wood material does not withstand being punctured. The round detail between the chain and the pendant is enamelled. The necklace's metal ball chain is a jewelry metal intended for jewelry use, which is suitable even for the most sensitive.
The birds that inspired the jewelery in the series are all species that occurs in Finland:
Great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) is the most common woodpecker in Finland. Main food of Great spotted woodpecker is spruce and pine seeds.
Crossbill (Loxia pytyopsittacus) is a resident of the northern coniferous forest, whose strong beak crosses from the tip.
Golden Oriole (Oriolus oriolus) is endangered in Finland and can be found in Lake Finland. It’s hard to get to see, but you can recognize it from the song.
Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is a spectacular bird thriving along streams and small rivers. It is one of the rarest bird nesting in Finland.
Bearded tit (Panurus biarmicus) thrives in the reeds on the shores of the lakes. There are about 200 - 500 nesting couples of bearded tits in Finland.
Siberian Jay is a bird of the northern coniferous forest zone, which is mainly found in Forest Lapland and Kainuu in Finland. Siberian Jay is considered a forester's friend, who will easily reach out to pick up food scraps. Kuukkeli is familiar to many Lapland tourists! In ancient Finnish belief, the Siberian Jay was also called the "bird of the soul" and it was believed that the forester's spirit moves to the Siberian Jay when he dies.
