The body of the case is made of polycarbonate and thermoplastic urethane. This makes the case sturdy, but the edges follow the edges of the phone well and provide an excellent fit. The case has rough edges, so it holds better in the hands than a slippery phone without a case. The edge of the case extends slightly beyond the edge of the screen and at the same time protects the phone's screen better from breakage.
